Introduction and aim: Nurses are people who are in close contact with people, take responsibility for human health and life and face untreatable illnesses and diseases. Therefore, they are constantly experiencing severe psychological stress. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment based treatment (ACT) and meta-diagnostic treatment in increasing life satisfaction in nurses working in the Social Security Organization in Kermanshah.
Methods: The research method was quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test with a control group. The statistical population of this study includes all nurses working in social security hospitals in Kermanshah. The sampling method is purposeful sampling. Among the nurses working in Kermanshah Social Security Hospitals, 45 people were selected as a sample by considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria and by initial testing and were divided into 3 groups of 15 people, which includes 2 experimental groups and a control group. Were. 8 sessions of 1.5-hour meta-diagnostic treatments were presented to the experimental group 1 and 8 sessions of couple therapy training based on acceptance and commitment therapy 1.5 hours were presented to the experimental group 2. Diner Life Satisfaction Scale (1985) was used to collect data.
Findings: The findings of this study showed that, in general, acceptance and commitment based therapy (ACT) is effective in increasing life satisfaction among nurses at a significant level (p <0.05). Also, meta-diagnosis treatment is effective in increasing life satisfaction among nurses at a significant level (p <0.05). The results for another research hypothesis showed that meta-diagnostic treatment has a greater effect (p <0.05) on increasing life satisfaction among nurses than acceptance and commitment based therapy.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that paying attention to life satisfaction in nurses is very important for individual health and general health of the community.
