The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and the validity of Resilience Scale for Adults in Prison. Participants included 215 prisoners selected from Adel Abad s Shiraz prison. They completed two self-report instruments: Resilience Scale for Adults & Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire. The reliability coefficient was calculated in two different methods: cronbach alpha & test-retest those were .84 and .94 respectively. The concurrent validity of the scale as measured by The Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire was -.35 (p<.01). Subscales-total correlation coefficients, as another index of validity were between .23 to .84. Factor analysis of the questionnaire using varimax rotation showed 5 factors called personal competence, social competence, social support, family coherence and personal structure which covered over the 57 percent of the total variance. These results provide evidence that the Resilience Scale for Adult construct is applicable for prisoners in Iran
