The aim of the current meta-analysis was to determine the effectiveness of cognitive treatments in reducing addiction and improve general health in addicted. Totally 10 studies with accepted methodology were selected and meta- analysis was done on them. The data were gathered using meta- analysis check list. The effect size of each study was calculated separately. The findings showed that the rate of effect size of cognitive on reducing addiction and improve general health was 0.47 to 0.83 which according to Cohen’s table was high and good. According to some empirical study, CBT interventions are suitable treatment for reducing addiction and improve anxiety and depression on addicted persons.
