The Effectiveness of Family Training Based on Olson Approach for Family Adaptation and Cohesion

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to exam the effectiveness of the family training to promote family adaptation and cohesion. To check the aim, a randomized pre-test- post-test with control group design was used.  The sample was 50 couples who were assigned randomly in experimental and control group. Participants in experimental group treated 24 sessions (each session was 90 minutes). The FACES-III was used to assess family adaptability and family cohesion. The result of repeated measures showed that there are significant differences between these two groups after treating experimental group. The results revealed that couples in experimental group touch a balanced system after treating. In sum, this research showed the efficient of the family training for Iranian family.
