This study aimed to develop psychometric indicators of Reading Strategies Scale among elementary school students in Shiraz in the academic year of 98-97. For this purpose, 573 male and female students were selected by multistage cluster sampling method and answered the questionnaires.
Questionnaire of 66 questions including cognitive, metacognitive, and motivational beliefs. Reliability of the scale was assessed by Cronbach's alpha of 0.88, split-half of 0.86 and retest of 0.87, respectively. The results indicated that the scale was reliable and the reliability of the scale was validated. The results showed that there were three strong significant factors with a specific value higher than one on this scale. For concurrent validity of the questionnaire, reading strategies were used to calculate the correlation coefficient between this questionnaire and the Joyce, Reading Rating, Math and Dictation Questionnaire. Also, there was a positive and significant relationship between the dimensions of Reading Strategies Scale and Joyce Reading Strategies Scale, Reading Rating, Spelling and Mathematical Rating Scale.
